About the Role
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Legal Counsel for upcoming contract opportunities in the Newcastle region.
The roles are expected to range between 12 to 15 months in duration. While no formal recruitment process has commenced, we are preparing for potential future vacancies and looking to connect with skilled legal professionals who may be available for contract engagements in the near future.
* Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements.
* Provide timely and commercially sound legal advice across a range of areas including compliance, regulation, risk, and contracts.
* Support the development and implementation of legal policies, frameworks, and internal training programs.
* Assist in the management of legal claims and support litigation matters as needed.
* Deliver legal training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
About You
We're interested in hearing from professionals who have:
* A Bachelor of Laws and a minimum of 8 years' post-graduate legal experience, ideally in a corporate or in-house environment.
* A current Australian Practising Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
* Strong experience in commercial contracts, with excellent drafting and written communication skills.
* The ability to deliver clear, commercially focused legal advice under time pressure.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
