The Opportunity
We are seeking Wardsperson to provide support to our Lake Macquarie Private Hospital. You will be joining our busy Surgical Ward providing assistance with patients in transit to and from our 10 operating theatres, 2 Cath Labs and PACU. This will involve tasks including patient transfers, patient lifting using aides, and response to emergencies, general cleaning and assisting with daily operations on the ward. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will perform duties to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the Hospital and Ramsay Health Care.
Skills And Experience
* Demonstrated experience as a hospital orderly/wardsperson (desirable)
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work effective within a team environment and independently
* Availability for a range of shifts across a 7-day rotating roster
* A strong willingness to learn and develop a working knowledge of hospital procedures
* Motivated and positive with a high level of attention to detail
* Strong understanding of manual handling and infection control procedures
* Have an unrestricted NSW drivers' licence
