Randstad is proud to be partnering with a State Government Department to recruit an Experienced Records Officer. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to apply specialist knowledge within a large-scale government environment, ensuring the integrity and legislative compliance of critical departmental data. Your New Role As an experienced member of the Records team, you will provide best-practice records management advice and technical services to support the business and its legislative responsibilities. Key responsibilities include: Applying the principles of Recordkeeping Standards and the Public Records Act 2002 to promote and ensure departmental compliance. Preparing legacy and inactive records for transfer to QLD State Archives or authorised off-site disposal. Entering information into computerised records management systems to register and monitor the location of files. Closing business matters, creating archiving indexes, and linking profiles to Retention & Disposal schedules. Utilising specialised records management software and administrative tools to maintain accurate data. Assisting business teams with document saving, ensuring correct naming conventions, and utilising file closure checklists. Performing manual handling duties in strict accordance with WH&S standards and procedures. What You Need to Be Successful Demonstrated history as a Records Officer, specifically within a government framework. Thorough understanding of the Public Records Act 2002 and Retention & Disposal principles. Experience with high-volume data entry and records management software. Excellent communication skills to provide responsive client services and the ability to manage highly confidential information. A high level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills to interpret complex written information. What You’ll Receive $51.12 per hour plus super.
