Position Available: Dental Receptionist/Assistant in Specialist Practice (Casual – 1 to 2 days per week)
We are seeking an experienced and efficient Dental Receptionist/Assistant to join our growing specialist dental practice. This is a dual-role position requiring a well-organised and adaptable individual who thrives in a very fast-paced environment.
We are ideally seeking a candidate available for 1 to 2 days per week; however, there is the potential for this to increase in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
* Greet and manage patients in a warm, courteous, and professional manner
* Schedule appointments and manage bookings using dental practice management software
* Handle incoming calls, emails, and general patient enquiries
* Maintain patient records accurately and confidentially
* Assist chairside during dental procedures as required
* Prepare and sterilise instruments and maintain infection control protocols
* Ensure clinical and reception areas are kept clean, organised, and well-stocked
* Process payments, health fund claims, and manage billing
* Liaise with laboratories, suppliers, and other external service providers
* General cleaning/practice upkeep duties
Essential Requirements:
* Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a dental reception and/or assisting role
* Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word
* Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication skills and a strong patient focus
* High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
* Professional presentation and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Desirable:
* Certificate III and/or Certificate IV in Dental Assisting
* Experience with dental software D4Web
* Knowledge of HICAPS and Medicare claiming procedures
