Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a Tool & Support Equipment Technician to join the AH-64 Apache sustainment and support team commencing in July 2026.
Program overview
The AH-64E Apache program provides advanced attack helicopter capability to the Australian Defence Force, enabling precision strike, armed reconnaissance and close air support. This program sustains a critical combat capability, supports interoperability with coalition partners, and underpins Australia's land and joint operations.

What you'll get to do
* Be an integral part of the Apache capability.
* Troubleshoots, analyses, inspects, disassembles, rebuilds, modifies and tests machinery and equipment as necessary using knowledge in areas such as mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
* Uses and interprets advanced blueprints and schematics to maintain and repair equipment.
* Responds to requests for equipment repair.
* Maintains and manages component and replacement part inventories.
* Promoting a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with OHS policies and procedures.
* Manage GSE and S&TE IAW Ground Support Equipment Special Instructions (SI) policies and procedures.
* Coordinating the scheduled and unscheduled servicing of Class I & II GSE and S&TE.
* Ensure correct dispatch and return of S&TE to the appropriate repair venue.
* Liaise with the 1 Avn Regt Q Store for the replacement or purchase of unserviceable or new tooling.
* Conduct periodic checks/audits of all tool boards in support of Apache maintenance operations.
* Conduct and manage Electrical Integrity Testing (EIT) of electrical equipment as directed and/or required.
* Review the Work Force Database to ensure GSE, S&TE and EIT registers are current and up to date with respect to serviceability of equipment.
* Monitor Work Health and Safety (WHS) within the Apache GSE and S&TE tool store and associated instructions.
* Contributes to improvements in the performance of the team (and the organisation generally) by proposing solutions to problems and more effective methods of work.
* Assist in the ongoing Internal Quality Auditing processes.
Who we're looking for
* Excellent mechanical and hydraulic skills including preventative maintenance, repairs and fault finding (CERT III or above).
* Use appropriate tools, safety equipment and materials to enable the timely completion of tasks.
* Strong organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to work autonomously.
* Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
* High level of verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
* Experienced or knowledge of updating and generating electronic schedules
* Sound knowledge of Australian Defence Force and commercial aviation GSE/S&TE.
* Carry out 240 Volt Integrity Testing and Tagging as required.
