About the Position
Indicium Labs has a Casual position for a Preparation/Laboratory Assistant role, with a view to moving Full-Time for the right candidate. The successful candidate will be working Monday-Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, with potential for overtime and/or weekend shifts during high demand periods. No experience is necessary, full training will be provided.
Position Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the tasks you will be required to perform include but are not limited to the following:
* Receivable and despatch of laboratory samples
* Perform routine sample preparation of geological samples - crushing, pulverising, labelling, sample storage and cataloguing etc.
* Strong attention to detail - correct numerical ordering and follow established work instructions and procedures.
* Focus on providing accurate and precise data
* Focus on Health and Safety, correct and appropriate use of PPE.
* Maintain daily production targets.
* Ability to work well within a team environment
* Maintaining a clean and organised workplace
Requirements:
Although you do not need any experience in this field, candidates with the following will be highly favourable:
* Forklift License
* Experience in geological sample preparation
* Manual handling experience
* Ability to work in an environment which, at times is hot and dusty.
* Clean shaven to facilitate wearing respiratory protection.
