About the Role
Sapura Energy Australia (SEA), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysian based Vantris Energy Berhad, is a leading offshore oil and gas subsea contractor with more than 30 years of proven experience in offshore construction.
SEA is seeking a motivated Designer to support our project and tender teams to deliver a range of subsea and offshore projects. In this role, you'll produce high-quality drawings and sketches for projects, assets and tenders, working closely with engineers and site teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce high-quality 2D and 3D drawings for projects, assets and tenders, including temporary and permanent works.
* Develop design, detail and construction/deconstruction drawings, including step-by-step methods, storyboards, rigging drawings, pack plans and build packages.
* Prepare tender and proposal drawings that clearly represent temporary and permanent works at a preliminary yet practical level.
* Support engineering studies and proposals with fit-for-purpose drawings.
* Respond to technical queries from site teams, clients and third parties (e.g. fabricators, vendors and suppliers).
* Coordinate drawing reviews and squad checks, ensuring timely delivery against project schedules.
* Maintain accurate drawing registers, ensuring correct titles, revisions and progress status.
* Ensure all drawings comply with client requirements, contractual obligations and corporate drafting standards.
* Manage filing and control of drawings in line with engineering document control procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in offshore engineering or construction environments.
* Previous experience in oil & gas is preferred, particularly within EPC, T&I contractors or operator environments.
* Strong understanding of technical and construction drawings.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multi-discipline engineering teams.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); experience with SolidWorks, Navisworks and Inventor is highly regarded.
* Relevant drafting or engineering qualification.
