Job Description
The Department of Health is seeking a skilled Senior Physiotherapist - Critical Care/Acute Cardiorespiratory Specialist to join their team in Tasmania, Australia. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment, providing expert physiotherapy services to patients in critical care and acute cardiorespiratory settings.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. They will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing treatment programs for patients requiring physiotherapy care, as well as supervising junior staff members.
The role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in professional development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist physiotherapy services to patients in critical care and acute cardiorespiratory settings
* Assess, plan, and implement treatment programs for patients requiring physiotherapy care
* Supervise junior staff members and provide guidance and support as needed
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in professional development activities
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in physiotherapy from an Australian university or equivalent
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Extensive experience in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, preferably in a hospital setting
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
