The Drive for Life initiative empowers young people facing vulnerability or disadvantage by helping them gain the skills, supervised hours, and confidence needed to achieve their driver's licence.We're seeking a passionate Driving Instructor who believes in the power of opportunity, enjoys working with young people, and wants to make a real difference in the Bundaberg community.In this role, you'll guide participants through every step of their learning journey—from their first assessment to the moment they're ready for their Provisional licence—while building strong community partnerships that help the program thrive.**How you'll make an impact*** Conduct client intakes and assessments, ensuring accurate documentation and meaningful referrals.* Plan, organise, and deliver driving lessons while monitoring each participant's progress.* Create personalised lesson plans that build confidence, capability, and safe driving habits.* Teach practical, real‐world driving skills across a variety of road environments.* Represent the Drive for Life program with professionalism when engaging with internal teams, community organisations, and external agencies.* Promote the program to youth services and community groups to expand its reach.* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including TMR centres.* Support program sustainability by identifying referral pathways and partnership opportunities.* Maintain accurate records of client activities, lesson outcomes, and administrative tasks.* Manage booking schedules and ensure all administration is completed to a high standard.* Support WHS and contract compliance through effective documentation management.* Coordinate online TMR bookings for students.**What you will bring*** Strong planning, organisational, problem‐solving, and evaluation skills.* Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.* Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics – Car Driving Instruction or currently undertaking this qualification (highly regarded).* Warm, effective interpersonal skills and the ability to engage confidently with young people and stakeholders.* Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).**What we offer**The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including:* Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.* Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.* Flexible (add remote / hybrid / onsite / WFH if applicable) working arrangements.* Access to EAP and health & wellness initiatives incl Fitness Passport* Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supports such as: Burra Burra Network (pastoral care network), Cultural Events, Sorry Business and Ceremonial Leave (up to 10 days)* Ongoing training and development opportunities that enhance on the job skills and proficiency.* Rewarding and fulfilling purpose driven careers that have positive and sustainable / social impacts.The Salvation Army (Salvos) is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.
