The Opportunity
After a long and successful career with Taggle, our current Business Development Manager is retiring. We are now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to step in, fill his shoes, and build on a strong foundation. The role will include an extensive handover period to ensure a smooth transition with existing customers and projects.
The successful candidate will drive revenue growth across New South Wales, identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities while growing existing customer relationships. You will work closely with internal teams to deliver innovative digital water solutions and support Taggle's growth strategy, including leveraging strategic partnerships with Telstra to expand market reach.
What You'll Be Doing
* Own and grow a portfolio of new and existing customer accounts across New South Wales
* Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities from first contact through to contract execution
* Proactively source leads and expand Taggle's presence in new and existing markets
* Achieve and exceed agreed sales revenue targets
* Build trusted relationships with councils, water authorities, and utilities
* Seek expansion opportunities within existing accounts, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 customers
* Drive sales across Taggle's hardware, software, and services portfolio
* Contribute to RFIs, tenders, and proposals in collaboration with internal teams
* Represent Taggle at industry events, forums, and conferences
* Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity reporting in CRM systems
About You
You're a commercially astute, results-driven sales professional who thrives in complex, long-cycle B2B sales environments. You're comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and enjoy translating technical solutions into clear customer value.
You're motivated by purpose as much as performance and have a genuine interest in sustainability, technology, and innovation.
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience selling into local government and/or utilities
* Strong B2B sales background in technology-led solutions (software, hardware, IoT, or services)
* Demonstrated success closing complex, high-value deals with long sales cycles
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
* Strong commercial acumen and pipeline management capability
* Exposure to IoT, SCADA, digital water, sensors, or data platforms (highly regarded)
* Ability to travel domestically as required, primarily within New South Wales
Qualifications & Requirements
* Relevant tertiary qualification (business, commerce, engineering, or similar)
* 8+ years' experience in business development or senior sales roles
* Current Australian work rights and driver's licence
* Ability to pass a police check
