About the Role
The Strategic Space Planner works across Colleges and Professional Portfolios, liaising closely with all service sectors of the Property Facilities and Development Division and other key stakeholders as required. This role is key in undertaking campus‑wide strategic planning and developing university‑wide change initiatives related to campus infrastructure. The Strategic Space Planner is also responsible for developing capital infrastructure projects, including scope, funding submissions, project briefs and transition planning, in line with campus strategic plans, campus master plans and local site development plans.

Qualifications
* Professional qualification in Architecture, Interior Design or related field and progressing towards postgraduate qualifications or possessing extensive skills and experience in a related field.
* Extensive experience in infrastructure planning, stakeholder management, business case development and concept planning within education, research or related sectors.
* Proven experience in working across all levels of an organisation and with diverse stakeholders to interpret requirements into a project brief, undertaking initial planning and scoping activities, and helping prepare business cases with realistic timelines and milestones for delivery.
* Ability to evaluate proposals and design concepts to ensure alignment with Building Code of Australia, Work Health and Safety principles and related statutory standards.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills; effective listening, negotiation, and ability to ask clear questions about issues and requirements. Experience in writing quality reports and recommendations for complex and sensitive issues.
About Property, Facilities and Development
This role is part of the Property, Facilities and Development (PFD) team at Flinders. The team works across all of Flinders' places, spaces, and physical infrastructure, focusing on Strategic Planning and Customer Experience; Capital Development; Customer and Site Services; Sustainability and Strategic Projects. They are responsible for planning, development, capital delivery, management, and maintenance of all university spaces.
