Full time, continuing opportunity Lead and oversee the management of student accommodation Offering a competitive remuneration package including 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Property and Development team within University Infrastructure are looking for an experienced Accommodation Operations General Manager to oversee the management of the University’s student accommodation portfolio on or near the university’s campuses. In this role the successful candidate will lead and manage the University’s Accommodation Operations Business including providing strategic leadership to the Accommodation Operations team. Key responsibilities: based at the Darlington Campus, you will lead and manage Accommodation Operations with responsibility for customer service, strategy, safety, compliance, marketing, relationships, and the business P&L ensure the provision of excellent 24/7 customer service across all accommodation operations, proactively identifying issues and implementing continuous system improvements lead the annual budget setting process in consultation with the Director, Property & Development, ensuring alignment with university procedures including annual rent setting, monthly reporting, and reforecasting manage the Accommodation Operations team including resource management, guidance, development, succession planning, and performance to build a high performing team that delivers exceptional outcomes build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and residents ensure a safe working and living environment for all staff and students, continuously monitoring and evaluating risks and opportunities for improvement in line with university policies and legislative requirements Support the ongoing development of a new operations pipeline, including business case input and leading the operationalisation of new accommodation assets as they near completion. About you senior management experience in a student accommodation setting postgraduate qualifications or an equivalent combination of training and experience asset management experience including development of long-term plans to ensure accommodation asset are well maintained financial management skills including previous experience managing P&L’s and managing the budget including monitoring income, costs and expenditures to ensure alignment with financial plans, forecasts and agreed targets demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff; and experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issues extensive experience in operational management in a residential setting experience managing a diverse group of key stakeholders on large or complex projects and the ability to develop/cultivate productive relationships with industry providers and key users excellent program management and planning skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies.
