Project Manager Role
To provide comprehensive support to the Project Manager and installation team by producing detailed shop drawings, 3D sketches, and documentation to assist in client presentations, council approvals, and installation planning. The role also includes ensuring workplace safety compliance through SWMS preparation, updating project progress in the CRM, and liaising with suppliers to maintain timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & Design Support
- Prepare accurate shop drawings for all projects.
- Create 3D visualisations/sketches for client presentations and approvals.
- Assist the installation team by providing clear plans and drawings.
- SWMS & Compliance
- Draft Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for high-risk jobs.
- Maintain accurate records of SWMS and ensure they are accessible to the installation team.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure WHS compliance.
- Project Coordination & CRM Updates
- Update project progress, notes, and documents in the CRM system.
- Track job milestones and alert Project Manager of any potential delays.
- Assist in maintaining project documentation and filing system.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Liaison
- Follow up with suppliers to confirm material delivery timelines.
- Communicate updates and changes to the installation team and Project Manager.
- Assist in resolving minor project issues as required.
- Administrative & General Support
- Provide general administrative support to the Project Manager and Operations team.
- Assist in preparing project reports or summaries as required.
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in drafting software and 3D design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp).
- Understanding of installation processes and construction documentation.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety procedures and SWMS preparation.
- Robust organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
Daily Tasks (Typical)
- Draft shop drawings for upcoming projects.
- Create 3D sketches for client review or council submission.
- Prepare SWMS for high-risk jobs.
- Update CRM with project progress, photos, notes, and tasks.
- Contact suppliers regarding material lead times and follow-ups.
- Support Project Manager in scheduling and project coordination.
