The Role We are seeking a Financial and Tax Accountant for a 3-6 month temporary assignment, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. This is a pivotal, multi-faceted role that sits at the financial reporting, complex tax compliance, and partnership finance. You will be the key link between the Melbourne office and the London-based Partnership & Tax team, gaining unique exposure to global mobility and international transfer pricing. Key responsibilities include: Financial & Tax Compliance: Preparing annual financial statements and tax reconciliations; managing all monthly and annual obligations including GST, IAS, BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax. Management of month-end financial reporting processes, including general ledger maintenance, inter-office reconciliations for branch offices, and detailed financial modelling. Managing partner remuneration, drawings, and distributions in alignment with global head office standards. Advisory & Planning, assisting with tax planning, global mobility for employees moving between international offices, and engaging with external tax advisors. Company Secretarial & Funds Management: Managing Unit Trusts, issuing units to beneficiaries, and overseeing foreign currency transactions and cashflow reporting. Your Profile The successful candidate will be CA or CPA qualified with a strong technical background in financial and tax accounting. You have proven experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing end-to-end tax obligations across multiple entities. You possess high-level analytical skills, including the ability to build and maintain detailed financial models. Given the global nature of this firm, you should be comfortable managing inter-office reconciliations and communicating effectively with senior stakeholders.
