Position Overview
An excellent opportunity exists for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a part-time fixed-term basis. This role is essential in supporting the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems, fabrication solutions, and construction-related engineering services across a range of projects.
The successful candidate will contribute technical expertise to ensure all mechanical and engineering systems are designed and executed in accordance with project specifications, Australian Standards, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, assess, and oversee the installation of mechanical systems, structural components, and fabrication solutions for construction and industrial projects.
* Prepare and review engineering drawings, fabrication layouts, technical specifications, and project documentation.
* Conduct site inspections to monitor fabrication quality, installation performance, and compliance with workplace safety standards.
* Perform engineering calculations, including load analysis, material selection, system sizing, and performance assessments.
* Coordinate with architects, contractors, fabricators, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and structural services.
* Provide technical support during project planning, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.
* Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, building regulations, and engineering requirements.
* Identify and resolve technical issues by implementing efficient and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Selection Criteria
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience within the construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or building services sector.
* Proficiency in engineering and CAD software.
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards, fabrication practices, and construction regulations.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
