About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate F/T, P/T, Casual Disability Support Workers, with a can-do approach and lateral thinker to join our dedicated team at Care to Inspire in Wagga Wagga, NSW. This is a role, focused on providing high-quality care and support to individuals living with disabilities in SIL housing including, community settings and participants' home in the local community.
What you'll be doing
1. Assisting clients with personal care, daily living activities, and community participation
2. Assisting clients with their weekly shopping and preparing weekly meal plans.
3. Making and attending to medical/allied health appointments as required
4. Implementing individualised support plans to empower and enable clients to reach their goals
5. Facilitating social, recreational, and educational activities to promote independence and wellbeing
6. Advocating for clients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders
7. Maintaining accurate reports, records and documentation as required by the organisation
8. Ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all clients and staff.
9. Monitoring changes to overall health and mental health and collaborating, making appointments with medical and allied health/counselling professionals.
What we're looking for
1. A genuine passion for supporting individuals with physical and psycho-social disabilities
2. Relevant experience supporting People with a disability.
3. Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
4. Strong time management and ability to prioritise.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and conflict management skills.
6. A minimum of 1 year experience in the disability support sector
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
8. Ability to use Microsoft Office suite programs and other computer systems for record keeping and notes.
9. The ability to work as part of a team and independently
10. A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
11. Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent or in process of obtaining
12. Current and valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
13. Current and valid Working with Children Check
14. NDIS Quality Safeguard Commission worker training modules, including Infection Control and Manual Food Handling
15. Experience working in psycho-social area highly regarded
