The opportunity
Kerr Engineering, a leading engineering and fabrication company, is seeking highly skilled and experienced Trades Assistants to join our dynamic team in Henderson, Western Australia. As a Trades Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our skilled welders, boilermakers, and fabricators, contributing to the delivery of critical engineering projects.
Key responsibilities
* Assisting welders, boilermakers, and fabricators in the completion of a wide range of fabrication and assembly tasks
* Preparing materials, components, and work areas for efficient and safe production
* Operating various hand and power tools, as well as machinery, to support the fabrication process
* Performing general labouring duties, including cleaning and maintaining the workshop
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality
What we're looking for
* Relevant trade qualifications or significant experience in welding, boilermaking, or fabrication
* Strong practical skills and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Knowledge of various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
* Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools, as well as machinery used in the fabrication process
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
* Ability to work safely and effectively within a team environment
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies
