About the Role
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing services within the Drug and Alcohol (D&A) service, ensuring care delivery aligns with contemporary nursing standards and Mid North Coast Local Health District policies and procedures. The role reports operationally to the D&A Service District Manager, with a professional reporting line to the IMHAOD Director of Nursing. This position provides district wide leadership for D&A nursing services across the Mid North Coast Local Health District, including Opioid Agonist Treatment, Substance Use in Pregnancy and Parenting (SUPPS), Hospital Consultation Liaison services, withdrawal services and outpatient clinics. The Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of high quality, safe, efficient and effective care, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and optimal patient outcomes.
The role is location negotiable within the Mid North Coast Local Health District with locations being Coffs Harbour & Port Macquarie.
About You
You are a registered nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, bringing extensive operational management expertise within a relevant healthcare setting and you can demonstrate a proven ability to coordinate complex unit and service activities, ensuring the effective management of human, physical and financial resources to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality care within defined budgets.
You will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate effectively with staff at all levels, patients and external agencies, and to positively influence organisational change and demonstrate strong computer literacy across a range of applications and bring extensive leadership experience underpinned by contemporary change management methodologies and a sound understanding of current issues impacting the nursing profession.
You will also need to have extensive clinical experience within the Drug and Alcohol field, including advanced knowledge of Opioid Treatment Programs, and hold a current NSW driver's licence with the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
