About The Role

We have a prime opportunity for a strategic and relationship-driven leader to spearhead Swinburne’s School Engagement Strategy, with a strong emphasis on equity and widening participation.

This pivotal role leads several externally funded initiatives, including Children’s University, Equity Partner Schools, and PrimeSCI! Science outreach which are designed to build engagement and increase access for learners from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will champion inclusive education pathways and drive meaningful engagement with schools across Victoria.

In addition to managing key partnerships, the role involves close collaboration with teams across Higher Education, VE and the MTC to design and promote education enhancement and engagement activities that showcase Swinburne’s unique offerings. By cultivating strong networks and delivering impactful outreach, the incumbent will ensure that students can make informed decisions on their education pathways and that Swinburne is delivering on government priorities for widening participation.

About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

- Lead enterprise wide school engagement and equity outreach strategy.
- Lead and implement an effective planning and management framework for engagement with academic schools across the University, including setting priorities, resource allocation and performance reporting.
- Provide leadership for external partnerships, including development of schools specific engagement and partner strategies to build market awareness.
- Own, develop and maintain relationships in accordance with the School engagement and equity outreach strategy at a High School executive level.
- Lead targeted support and advice to faculties, schools and centres to facilitate high value activities for schools, students and Swinburne
- Lead a high performing team of education and equity experts to achieve annual funding performance indicators and attract additional funding to grow programs.
- Lead the acquittal and reporting of government and philanthropic funding agreements in a timely fashion.
- Fulfill financial reporting obligations inline with HEPPP funding requirements.

Qualifications

- Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience;
- or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
