About the Role

We’re looking for a seasoned engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and navigating the balance between product, design, and engineering priorities. In this role, you’ll be part of our Digital Front End platform team, with a focus on driving the technical uplift of our GraphQL services which are used by multiple product teams across the business. You\'ll play a key role in shaping the architecture, improving developer experience, and ensuring the platform scales with our growing needs.

About you and your skills

You\'re a highly experienced engineer with a passion for building robust, scalable solutions. You\'re not just a coder; you\'re a leader who can guide technical direction and mentor others.

Essential Skills & Experience

- 7+ years of experience building and maintaining large-scale websites
- Robust proficiency in GraphQL, including advanced schema design and efficient query implementation
- Expertise in React, Java Script, Type Script, REST APIs, and other modern web technologies
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives and making critical architectural decisions
- Practical experience with continuous delivery pipelines
- Solid understanding and experience with agile development methodologies

Desirable Skills & Experience

- Experience building GraphQL services with Type Script and RTK Query
- Knowledge of microservice design principles
- Experience implementing or contributing to a Federated GraphQL architecture
- Active participation in developer communities or Guilds, with experience presenting technical topics
- A strong desire to contribute to our developer tooling and community
- Experience with (or a keen willingness to learn) build automation pipelines
- An eagerness to learn and gain exposure to diverse systems and technologies
