Join a team that has the environment down to a science.Your OpportunityOur Indigenous Services team specializes in Indigenous engagement support, Indigenous traditional knowledge and land use studies, and the integration of Indigenous Knowledge into environmental impact assessments across Canada. We have provided cultural resources planning, management, assessment and mitigation services to private sector resource developers, all levels of government, non-governmental groups, and Indigenous communities. We practice respectful collection and interpretation of information in collaboration with Indigenous groups.Your Key ResponsibilitiesLiaising with project managers and other departments as well as internal and external clients to ensure the delivery of objectivesLeading Indigenous Services project teamsUndertaking and coordinating proposal writing activitiesProject management including the creation and management of project budgets and schedulesConducting Indigenous Knowledge and traditional land use studies, including interviews and field studiesReporting, documentation and quality reviewCompleting assessments for regulatory applicationsCompletion of projects efficiently within allocated budgets and timelinesProviding guidance and mentorship to junior staffQualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsExperience in team leadership and managing project managementExperience in presenting to a variety of audiences including Indigenous and industry clients, regulatory authorities and technical teamsExperience in environmental impact assessmentsKnowledge of Indigenous cultural, historical and political context in CanadaMust have a valid driver’s license as travel may be required in this position as project needs dictateProficient in Microsoft Office ApplicationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Indigenous studies, anthropology, sociology, geography, archaeology and/or environmental sciences)Relevant consulting experience is an asset, particularly in community-based research.Industry-specific safety training certificates are an asset. Socioeconomics or public health assessment experience is an asset.Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
