About the Role
We seek a motivated, talented and experienced Commercial Partnerships & Marketing Specialist who will be responsible and accountable for corporate and government sponsor leverage, servicing and procurement, as well as working closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager on key deliverables.
This position will ensure new & existing strategies are developed and implemented across all key areas/departments with a focus on achieving mutual value for both the organisation and all contracted sponsors & partners.
The successful candidate will have a strong creative side, with the need to integrate brands and commercial partners into the AACTA Awards broadcast and other year-round initiatives.
Core Functions of the Role:
The Commercial Partnerships & Marketing Specialist is primarily responsible for:
* Management and development of existing partners (corporate and government).
* Delivery of sponsorship contractual rights and benefits, ranging from event activations, marketing benefits, event signage, hospitality/ticketing, branding and other deliverables.
* Cultivating high value relationships with commercial partners (existing and potential) so as to maximise collaboration and extension of activity.
* Identify and explore new business opportunities and partners, including the commercialisation of new initiatives, events and activities.
* Working with third party commercial sponsorship agencies on procurement of new partners.
* Together with the Marketing Manager, leverage media partnerships to develop above the line marketing strategies to increase membership, sell AACTA Awards tickets, increase viewership to the AACTA Awards telecasts, encourage Audience Choice Awards voting and engagement and promote development initiatives.
* Oversee all design and messaging for all marketing activity and broadcast integration via sponsors & partners, ensuring they are in line with each brand.
* Seek and manage sponsor/partner approvals on all related marketing assets and source quotes for media releases where required.
* Work with the Marketing Communications Manager to develop a comprehensive PR/Media Plan which considers partnership channels as part of the overall strategy.
* Stay on top of key dates and prepare media releases and assets in advance to ensure relevant time for approvals.
* Planning and delivery of dedicated partner ancillary events.
* Continuously look at new creative ways to enhance reach and access to audiences via partnership channels including direct communications, PR, social media, website, experiential campaigns and events.
* Prepare briefs for sponsors for all major events including briefs for key talent and stakeholders.
* Manage sponsors and key stakeholders at all AACTA events including positioning partners on the red carpet, greeting key stakeholders where applicable, escorting key stakeholders to relevant rooms/events.
* Lead all regular sponsor meetings/WIPs and be a key point of contact for partners.
* Oversee all de-brief and acquittal reports.
* Report across key measurables/KPIs for each sponsor, and prepare and present post event report for each partner.
* Manage legal contracting and renewals of all partners.
* Prepare management reports and papers as required.
* Ensure sponsor invoicing is up to date and follow up unpaid invoices as required.
* Maintain knowledge of market trends and developments in key sponsor industries.
* Prepare and present pitch decks.
* All other duties as directed by the CEO and Marketing & Communications Manager.
About You
You ideally have a strong agency background in a senior account management role. You are an accomplished Partnerships/Sponsorship/Marketing professional, brand oriented and creative in your approach to connect with partners and have a solid understanding of leveraging marketing and media to deliver to plans.
You have big ideas, and the talent and willingness to deliver them for an organisation which has global reach.
Desired skills & experience:
* At least 3 years' experience in an account management or sponsorship management role
* A track record of end-to-end account management of new and existing partners
* Demonstrated experience in bringing brand activations to life
* Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills
* Event industry experience desired
* Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
* A desire to play an integral role in brand and organisational growth
* The ability to think outside the box
* A creative and commercial mindset and a passion to succeed
