Role Overview
Undergraduate Vacation Studentships run over the Australian summer holidays and offer undergraduate students the opportunity to collaborate with leading CSIRO researchers in our world‐class facilities. Students will work on a real project in science, technology or a related field such as science communication.
Timetable and Stipend
Locations: Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart (other CSIRO sites may be possible).
Stipend: $2,056.33 per fortnight.
Duration: 8–12 weeks between late November 2026 and February 2027.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with CSIRO researchers on a real project in the Energy research domain.
* Apply scientific and engineering knowledge to contribute to clean energy solutions.
* Participate in workshops, discussion panels and present project results at a final symposium.
Qualifications
* Enrolled in an undergraduate degree at an Australian university.
* Has completed at least one year of full‐time equivalent undergraduate study.
* Strong academic record (credit average or higher) and/or known capability in the field.
* Interest in pursuing a research career in science or technology, or a related discipline.
* Ability to undertake a full‐time placement for 8–12 weeks over the university summer vacation period.
