Job Title: Residential Construction Estimator
Tropical Homes, a leading residential building company in North Queensland, seeks a skilled Residential Construction Estimator to join their team.
About the Role
* The successful candidate will play a critical role in the pre-construction process, delivering accurate estimates and take offs for projects.
Key responsibilities include:
* Producing accurate material take-offs and cost estimates;
* Preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and managing purchasing requirements;
* Maintaining and updating price files and supplier data;
* Requesting, comparing, and negotiating quotes from trades and suppliers;
* Coordinating delivery schedules for homes under construction;
* Consulting with Construction Supervisors, trades, and suppliers to formulate estimates and resolve issues.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Proven experience as a Resident Estimator or Purchasing Officer;
* Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and materials;
* Ability to confidently interpret construction drawings and specifications;
* High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership and accountability;
* Excellent communication skills to work effectively with trades, suppliers, and internal stakeholders;
* Experience with Databuild and Microsoft Excel is highly regarded;
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
