We are looking for a Data Science Manager to join our team and help grow our digital practice across Australia and New Zealand. As a manager, you will guide clients through complex transformations, lead data science teams, and support the growth of our regional practice.
As a Data Science Manager, you will help our clients solve challenging issues. The work is demanding, and provides unparalleled exposure to unique opportunities. Our focus is helping clients solve - not just prepare plans for solving - their most important problems with the transformative power of analytics. You will combine your knowledge of Analytics and Data Science with real-world applications for a diverse set of clients in industries such as Consumer Goods (FMCG), Life Sciences, Manufacturing, and Energy & Resources.
Your Responsibilities:
* Guide top executives in making decisions based on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms.
* Research, design, implement, and deploy full-stack scalable data analytics and machine learning solutions across various industries.
* Understand and improve the latest algorithms and trends.
* Provide expertise on industry and functional topics.
* Lead the development of vision, mission, and core values for the data science team, fostering a strong culture.
* Collaborate with senior management and key partners to identify and prioritize impactful insights to enhance business capabilities and objectives.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
* PhD or a minimum of a Master's degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative fields.
* 8+ years of experience in a data science role within a business setting, ideally as a Senior Data Scientist.
* Fluent in spoken and written English.
* Ability to communicate complex concepts in a simplified, business-oriented manner.
* Willingness to travel up to 50%.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
Technical Skills
* Proficiency with Machine Learning model development, training, validation, and application.
* Strong knowledge of mathematical disciplines including linear algebra, calculus, probabilistic models, and statistics.
* Experience with data manipulation techniques, including ETL/ELTV.
* Proficiency in R, Python, or Scala scripting.
* Experience with data visualization platforms such as D3.js, Tableau, Kibana, HTML5, and CSS.
* Knowledge of Graph/NoSQL databases and RDBMS platforms like Oracle and MS SQL Server.
* Proficiency with SQL.
* Experience developing in Java and .NET languages.
* Experience with RESTful and SOAP Web Services.
* Understanding of software development practices and technical documentation.
