Southern Cross Gold Consolidated (SXGC) is advancing one of Australia's most exciting high‐grade gold and antimony discoveries at Sunday Creek in Victoria — and we're growing our exploration team to support an expanding drilling program.
As an Exploration Geologist, you'll gain hands‐on experience across diamond drilling, geological logging, interpretation and targeting, working alongside a technically strong and supportive team. About the Role
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Exploration Geologist will support the delivery of an expanding drilling program at Sunday Creek, with a strong focus on diamond core logging, drill program execution and geological interpretation.
You'll work closely with senior geologists and contractors to ensure safe, efficient drilling operations while contributing to targeting, data interpretation and exploration planning.
What You'll Drive
* Diamond core logging to a high technical standard
* Assisting with drill rig supervision and contractor coordination
* Interpretation of geological, geochemical and geophysical data
* Assessment of exploration results and recommendations for follow‐up work
* Target generation and contribution to geological models
* Maintaining QA/QC standards and data quality
* Promoting safe work practices across field activities

Who You Are
You're motivated, curious and eager to learn. You enjoy working both outdoors and in technical environments and take pride in producing accurate, high‐quality work.
You're a team player who communicates well, takes initiative and wants to develop your career within a growing exploration company.
Your Background
* Bachelor of Science (Geology or equivalent)
* Minimum 2 years' experience in mineral exploration
* Diamond core logging experience
* Understanding of drilling, sampling and QA/QC practices
* Strong analytical, communication and problem‐solving skills
Highly regarded
* Orogenic or epithermal gold experience
* Victorian geology knowledge
* Experience with Leapfrog, QGIS or similar software
