Brief Description
The role
Reporting to the Associate Director of Partnerships & Alliances, the Head of Commercial & Optimisation will support business case development and execution of key strategic initiatives. The role involves enhancing contract and operational management frameworks to support commercial outcomes and proactively manage risks across Partnerships & Alliances. Additionally, the role leads a team supporting the White Label Partnerships and Alliances Team from a commercial and operational perspective.
This position is available at our Brisbane and Sunshine Coast locations, offering flexibility to choose your preferred office. Our Toowong office is centrally located with easy public transport and parking, North Lakes is within walking distance of retail hubs, and Kawana offers scenic water views and proximity to beaches.
What You’ll Do
1. Support contract renegotiations and partner tender processes, collaborating with the Associate Director of Partnerships and Partner Contract owners.
2. Assist in developing and assessing new Partnership or Alliance opportunities with business unit owners.
3. Support onboarding of new partners and assist in contract and commercial negotiations.
4. Drive business case proposals to enhance Partnership and Alliance performance from a commercial and operational perspective.
5. Lead operational resources supporting Partnerships and Alliances activities across Sales, Service, and Claims, including continuous improvement and customer complaints management.
6. Enhance performance, governance, risk, and operating frameworks in collaboration with the Associate Director.
7. Work with business owners to improve sales and customer experience outcomes.
8. Support executive-level proposals and reporting, assisting in prioritization and delivery of initiatives.
9. Perform other relevant activities as needed to meet operational requirements.
10. Lead and manage the Commercial & Optimisation Team to achieve growth targets and strategic objectives.
11. Provide budget recommendations and manage financial objectives within approved allocations.
12. Develop and maintain team capability and capacity to meet current and emerging needs.
13. Optimize service delivery through resource management, commercial negotiations, and stakeholder collaboration.
14. Ensure departmental compliance with risk management, governance, and accountability frameworks.
What Experience You’ll Bring
* 7-10 years of experience in financial services.
* Experience supporting large partner pursuits, contract renegotiations, and managing senior-level partnerships.
* Degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Analytics.
* Proven experience in senior commercial management, developing strategies, and delivering operational plans to meet KPIs and growth.
* Ability to coach, lead, and develop a high-performance team.
* Understanding of the insurance industry and partnership models.
