About the Company

We are partnering with a well‐established energy services and infrastructure business supporting major construction and industrial projects across Australia. The organisation operates in a high‐volume, blue‐collar environment, with employees covered under a mix of Enterprise Agreements, site‐specific EBAs, and union awards (including AWU).

The Role

This is a hands‐on, business‐critical position requiring a confident payroll professional who can step into a live environment with minimal handover. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a weekly payroll of approximately 300 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across all pay runs in a complex operational environment. Please note: This role is full‐time onsite in Rhodes within a shared office environment.

Responsibilities

* End-to-end processing of weekly payroll (~300 employees)
* Advanced use of Employment Hero (KeyPay) to manage payroll workflows and system outputs
* Managing complex pay conditions, including allowances, penalties, overtime, and site‐based entitlements
* Interpretation and application of Enterprise Agreements, EBAs, and union awards (AWU)
* Reviewing and validating timesheets and payroll data across multiple inputs
* Handling payroll queries from operational and site‐based employees
* Performing payroll reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting
* Ensuring compliance with superannuation, PAYG, and STP requirements

Qualifications

* Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer in high‐volume environments
* Advanced / Power User level experience with Employment Hero (KeyPay) – essential
* Able to manage complex payroll setups and configurations
* Confident troubleshooting issues and processing manual adjustments
* Comfortable juggling multiple payroll cycles, queries, and reconciliations
* Demonstrated experience managing weekly payroll
* Background in construction, infrastructure, labour hire, or similar blue‐collar environments highly regarded
* Strong understanding of award interpretation, EBAs, and union agreements
* Able to hit the ground running with minimal supervision
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
