Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To develop, implement, monitor and evaluate plans and strategies such as the: Community Safety Plan Graffiti Management Plan Work with other members of the Community Safety Team, other internal and external stakeholders to meet the community safety needs of the community. To support the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies, strategies and procedures in relation to CCTV in public places. To support the deployment of Council’s CCTV Mobile Trailer across Albury in line with established protocols. To provide ongoing administrative and budgetary support to the following internal and external committees: Albury Liquor Accord Crime Prevention Committee Community Drug Action Team – CDAT Domestic Violence Network To manage ,deliver and evaluate all aspects of programs and projects associated with the Community Safety Portfolio aimed at fostering a safer community. To provide advice and implement actions within liquor licensing laws / legislation. To facilitate the sharing of information/resources with external organisation to address priority community safety issues. To support and work with members of community groups and initiatives to develop a collaborative approach in the implementation of community safety strategies. Prepare reports in accordance with legislative requirements. Research and investigate crime and the impact of community based initiatives, policy initiatives and environmental and technology factors, which can impact on the incidence of crime. Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training. This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over the standard 35 hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed with your supervisor. On occasions there will be a requirement to attend meetings and events outside of normal business hours. This position involves working both indoor and outdoor, along with computer work. The position requires a moderate level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake regular physical activities such as walking, lifting, pulling, pushing along with the capacity to maintain normal manual handling tasks across the work day – depending on the nature of the tasks undertaken. Appropriate WHS standards will be applied for all manual handing activity. A full functional and medical assessment is required for this position. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Tertiary qualification in Social Science, Welfare, Criminology/Social justice, Community Development or related fields or relevant work experience. Class C (standard) Driver's Licence (compulsory to have and maintain) NSW Security Licence Class 1E - Monitoring Centre Operator (compulsory to have and maintain) DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Ability to drive, manoeuvre and park a trailer EXPERIENCE Relevant experience supporting and consulting with community based organisation. SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Demonstrated experience in promoting, implementing and evaluating community projects, ideally in crime prevention and community development A sound knowledge of project management Ability to analyse demographic and statistical data Ability to interpret legislation Demonstrated computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office Suite) Demonstrated ability in preparing and submitting grant applications Sound knowledge and ability to develop policy Knowledge of the operations of CCTV and its impact on the hosting organisation and the community
