The DevOps engineer works within a small team dedicated to building and maintaining multiple growing platforms and other cloud-based services that support the full application lifecycle. The role works closely with a variety of software development teams, assisting them to onboard new projects within Azure DevOps, implement CI/CD pipelines, and incorporate open-telemetry tooling, empowering them to accelerate software delivery and adopt the principles of a DevOps culture.
This role plays a key part in a major transformational program, contributing to the design, development, and delivery of technical solutions.
Key duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and provide ongoing support for CI/CD toolsets and troubleshoot performance issues.
* Support Azure pipeline development and cloud migration efforts.
* Configure and manage Windows application servers and IIS web applications.
* Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures.
* Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration for reliable environment management.
* Plan, automate, test, and deploy databases using pipelines.
* Identify and implement process improvements for DevOps workflows.
* Cultivate relationships internally and externally, offering mentorship as needed.
* Manage time and workload effectively to meet project deadlines.
Skills and Attributes:
* Strong IT infrastructure background with expertise in DevOps methodologies and cloud architecture.
* Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and automation.
* Effective project management skills, delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Ability to manage client relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
* Practical use of static code analysis and quality tools such as SonarQube.
* Strong knowledge of container technologies (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes), artifact repositories (e.g. JFrog Artifactory) and container security best practices.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
* Exposure to other Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform)
Essential criteria
1.Experience designing and implementing complex build and release pipelines using modern and legacy technologies to ensure reliable, scalable and auditable software delivery.
* Experience with modern and legacy coding languages and associated build processes, versioning and packaging, and
* Experience implementing static code analysis and quality tools such as SonarQube.
2.Ability to lead and govern the integration of DevOps platforms to enable secure end-to-end automation, traceability and operational insight.
* Including integration of third party and custom tools, artifact repositories, container platforms, reporting platforms, and service management systems.
3.Experience designing and implementing secure, resilient Azure, multi cloud and hybrid cloud deployment architectures.
* Experience with Azure Cloud, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, security controls and deployment templates.
* Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform, to deliver repeatable environments that meet availability, recovery, security and performance requirements.
4.Experience in producing DevOps architectural patterns that are reusable and scalable.
* Multi-cloud, hybrid and legacy build and release architecture,
* Container based and Kubernetes delivery models, and
* Balance functional and non-functional requirements and manage associated risks.
5.Proven ability to guide teams and drive operational support of DevOps platforms and pipelines.
* Ensure availability, recoverability, continuous improvement and compliance with agreed architectures, standards and service levels
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 30 months
Pay: $120.00 – $140.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Darwin NT
