The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Technology Technician to join our team at the Wheelers Hill Campus on a part-time (3 days a week) 12-month fixed-term contract.
The successful applicant will play a crucial role in our dynamic school community.
With a strong foundation in design and workshop fabrication skills, the ideal candidate will bring valuable expertise in utilising workshop tools and equipment.
They will also play a key role in ensuring smooth information flow, utilising their strong IT and communication skills to enhance engagement, streamline processes, and facilitate effective collaboration with students and colleagues.
Key Duties
Provide support for the members of the Design teaching staff in an administrative, organisational and technical capacity and technical support to students in classes
Providing assistance to students with timber, acrylic and metal based designs
Coordinate and manage materials and equipment for 3d printers and laser cutters
Manage exhibitions and display of student works and complete associated duties
Preparing timber, acrylic and metal for class use
Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills and Experience
Design and workshop fabrication skills and experience with workshop tools and equipment
Experience with 3D printer and laser cutter skills is desirable
Experience working with secondary students (middle and senior school) is preferred
Qualifications in a design or engineering field
Holds a Current Drivers Licence
Holds or is willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check and safe use of machinery training
Holds or is willing to obtain safe use of machinery
