Support a Lonely Senior with Companionship
The Australian Government's Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme connects volunteers with an older person who is feeling lonely and/or socially isolated to build friendships and reduce feelings of loneliness.
In this role, you will be paired with a male in his 60s to provide regular social support visits in his residential aged care home. You will listen to music, play cards, have conversations, and could even bring your dog along.
Get to know someone new and make a difference in your local community by providing companionship to an individual who appreciates it.
This male currently resides in a Residential Aged Care Home in Hobart TAS. He enjoys listening to music, sharing a hot drink, and having someone to chat with. Patience and a good sense of humour are essential for this role.
Visits will take place in his room within the memory support unit. As a volunteer, you will:
* Provide regular social support visits
* Engage in activities such as listening to music, playing cards, or bringing your dog
* Build a friendship with the individual

About you:
* Lives in and around Hobart or is happy to travel

Time Commitment: 1 hour per week or fortnight, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Be flexible and let's find out the hours that suit you best.
