Aboriginal Education Support Role
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our school's Aboriginal education program. As an Aboriginal Education Support Coordinator, you will provide guidance and support to staff in creating inclusive learning environments that respect and value First Nations students' cultures.
The Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the development and implementation of the school's Aboriginal education strategy;
2. Collaborate with teachers and staff to design and deliver culturally responsive teaching practices;
3. Provide support and guidance to students and families in accessing educational resources and opportunities;
4. Develop and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal communities and organisations to build partnerships and promote cultural exchange;
5. Contribute to the planning and delivery of Aboriginal-focused events and programs at the school.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Experience working with Indigenous Australians, particularly in an educational setting;
* Strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history, and current issues;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups;
* Ability to think critically and strategically, with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal students;
* Qualifications in education or a related field, preferably with a focus on Indigenous education;
