Position InformationCecil Hills High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school in a growth area of south–west Sydney. The student enrolment of over 1300 students (Year 7 to Year 12) includes 85% of students from a non–English speaking background. The school has 1% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school proudly has a support unit consisting of seven classes. The main languages spoken at home are Vietnamese, Arabic and Serbian. The school has just opened two new facilities including a multi storey general learning block to aid in the learning of our students. The proposed Western Sydney Airport is in the school's drawing area and will provide significant employment and training links when constructed.The school has an outstanding reputation for quality teaching and learning, which fosters a productive learning environment, with a history of academic success and high expectations in all curriculum areas. Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach students with learning and support needs [secondary] and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs [secondary] in regular classes.
* Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needed and their teachers.
* Proven experience in supporting students with diverse learning and support requirements.
* Experience collaborating within a school learning support team to create, execute, and evaluate individualised student plans.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
