The Role
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee the human resources department across our group of companies. Reporting to the General Manager of BMS Strata Systems Pty Ltd, this senior role provides strategic leadership combined with hands-on HR advisory support.
The Human Resources Manager will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, oversee the HR Advisor and recruitment personnel, and manage complex employee relations matters while ensuring consistent, compliant, and practical HR service delivery across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee the HR function across multiple entities and business units
• Provide HR advice to senior leaders and managers
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex and high-risk employee relations matters
• Allocate, prioritise, and oversee workloads across HR Advisors and recruitment staff
• Mentor, coach, and develop HR team capability and performance
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, modern awards, and industrial instruments
• Oversee HR governance, including policies, procedures, employment contracts, and position descriptions
• Support workforce engagement, performance, wellbeing, and culture initiatives
• Contribute to HR reporting, workforce planning, and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with Work Health and Safety teams on wellbeing-related matters
About You
You are a highly experienced HR professional with strong leadership capability and a sound understanding of Australian employment legislation. You bring a practical, measured approach to people management and are confident managing sensitive and complex matters in operational environments.
Key Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related discipline
• Minimum 10–15 years' experience in senior HR advisory and management roles
• Extensive experience managing complex employee relations matters and investigations
• Strong working knowledge of Fair Work legislation, modern awards, and industrial instruments
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing HR professionals
• Experience leading HR functions in multi-site or operational environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and ethical judgement
• Current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to travel as required
• Experience with Employment Hero (desirable)
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. AHRI) (desirable)
