About Springhill Farm
We're a second‑generation, mid‑scale food manufacturer, producing delicious products under both our own Springhill Farm brand and for leading snack food brands across Australia. We operate out of a purpose‑built AA‑grade BRC facility in Ballarat and have a team of over 100 passionate snack makers on site.
The role
We're excited to introduce a newly created Production and Demand Planner role, established to support the continued growth of our business and the expansion of our product and customer portfolio. Reporting to the Director, you'll be responsible for building demand forecasts and production schedules that balance customer needs, production capability, raw materials and compliance requirements. This role sits at the centre of the business and works closely with Sales, Operations, QA, Procurement and Warehouse teams.
What you'll be doing
Forecast & demand planning
* Collate, review and consolidate customer forecasts
* Build and maintain rolling 3‑month forecasts and 6‑month indicative forecasts
* Proactively manage seasonality and forecast accuracy
* Identify potential raw material or packaging shortages early and work closely with Procurement
Production planning & scheduling
* Develop and maintain rolling production schedules (up to 8 weeks)
* Plan efficient production runs with strong consideration of allergen management and equipment availability
* Ensure plans meet regulatory, customer and certification requirements (BRC, Halal, Kosher, testing schedules)
* Communicate clearly and proactively with internal teams and customers around delivery timelines and any risks
Cross‑functional collaboration
* Act as a key link between Sales, Operations, QA, Procurement and Warehouse
* Lead and contribute to production planning meetings
* Flag current and future capacity constraints and support demand balancing decisions
* Work with the warehouse team to ensure stock reporting is accurate
Continuous improvement
* Analyse trends to improve forecast accuracy, line utilisation and changeover efficiency
* Participate in or lead planning, system or workflow improvement initiatives

About you
You're an organised, proactive planner who enjoys solving problems and working closely with others. You're comfortable working with data, but you also understand the importance of clear communication and strong relationships.
You'll bring:
* 3–5 years' experience in a similar planning role within FMCG
* Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, operations, business or similar
* Strong forecasting and production planning capability
* Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office
* Excellent attention to detail with a practical, can‑do attitude
* The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑moving environment
