About the role
This role will support the data entry, integrity and access for clinical information systems relevant to their service, for a range of purposes including maintenance of accurate records relating to patient care, enabling clinical research and providing evidence which influences health service funding.
The Data Integrity Officer will be Monitoring data in the systems, identifying incorrect or missing information and working with others to correct errors. Produce data reports on a routine basis according to schedule or in response to adhoc requests. Provide advice, training and support to other staff members in data quality, and promote data compliance. You will need to meet deadlines, and observe patient privacy & confidentiality.
This position is Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:30. Working hours are flexible within reason and one rostered day off every month.
A typical work day includes; Data Review and Reporting: reviewing any discrepancies or missing information in the system, Generate Daily Reports: Produce daily reports highlighting errors or missing information in the system, Support Clinical and Administrative Staff: Respond to queries from Emergency Department (ED) staff, System Updates: Monitor and ensure that updates or changes to the eMR systems (like FirstNet) are implemented and well-communicated to staff, Quality Assurance Participation: Engage in quality assurance programs, offering insights into potential improvements based on data trends, Data Correction and Training: correcting any identified data discrepancies and provide training sessions for ED staff
The successful applicant will work closely with Clinical Teams: ED staff, including NUMs, Director of Emergency, Other Clinicians, Theatre Teams: Theatre NUM, Patient Services Manager & Booking Clerk, Health Information Manger & Coding Team, Health Intelligence Unit (HIU), Clinical Information Systems Analysts: Collaborating on system issues and resolving operational challenges. (eMR, PAS Teams), Administrative Staff: Collaborate with the clinical support and administrative staff in training and data quality assurance efforts.
On the job training will be complemented by My Health Learning online courses, mentoring by the Health Information Manager and performance development based on agreed objectives and regular performance reviews.
