Special Needs Education Assistant
This is a permanent full-time position commencing as soon as possible. The role involves working with students to assist teachers in delivering planned education programs focused on literacy, numeracy, social emotional learning and work readiness skills, while supporting provision of a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist teachers in implementing educational programs for students with special needs.
* Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher, Head of Learning Area and other Success Program staff in delivering an inspiring and quality educational experience.
* Perform tasks that require judgement in achieving clearly defined outcomes determined by the teacher and Head of Learning Area.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Caring, proactive and responsive individual with good written and oral communication skills.
* Able to interact with students with special needs, parents and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programs.
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs.
* Good organisational skills to assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students.
* Able to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs.
