Primary objective
Manage a team and provide effective guidance ensuring you and your team support businesses and individuals with licensing
requirements, new business, grants and Government assistance programs. Enhance productivity and performance for services
provided on behalf of internal and external Agencies, including receipting and processing licences.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Ensure you and your team deliver a high standard of Customer Service and provide consistent and highly accurate information
on all current licensing, administration, business programs and policy operations.
2. Provide expert knowledge in the legislation delegations and compliance procedures to approve licence applications within the
level of responsibility.
3. Respond to a range of public and internal enquiries, face-to-face, call centre or electronic methods; provide clear, accurate,
practical business and licence information, guidance and liaise with other agencies, Departments and organisations.
4. Set clear goals, manage the day-to-day prioritisation and workflows in a business and licensing environment to meet the needs
of all internal and external stakeholders.
5. Develop and maintain documented procedures and set and manage performance monitoring to support consistent delivery of
service expectations and make recommendations for work procedures that will enhance the departmental service delivery,
operating procedures and standards.
6. Ensure you and your team follow the legislation delegations and compliance procedures to approve licence applications within
the level of responsibility and accepted time frames.
7. Receipt NT Government Revenue, reconcile daily transactions, prepare bank deposit slips and NT Government banking and
complete/submit periodic internal reports.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven ability as a pro-active Team Leader and experience in a demanding front line Customer Service environment with the
ability to successfully negotiate and resolve difficult situations.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a variety of communication channels
for the efficient and accurate transfer of information to external and internal stakeholders.
3. Demonstrated time-management skills and a demonstrated ability to lead and develop your team to ensure reliability, accuracy
and productive and constructive team members.
4. Demonstrated organisation skills and ability to meet and monitor deadlines and handle several tasks concurrently and enter
accurate and timely data using a range of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
5. Excellent numeracy skills plus experience in receiving and processing cash, electronic financial transactions and reconciliation.
6. Ability to always maintain confidentiality and undergo Police History Name Check.
Desirable
1. Good understanding of the Northern Territory Government and a sound knowledge of relevant licence legislation for the
purpose of assessing and approving applications.
