Do you have a passion for plants and a knack for identifying different species? Sunshine Coast Plants is looking for a versatile individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver & Store person. This is not your typical delivery role—it combines horticultural experience, plant care, and customer engagement with logistics responsibilities. Casual position to start, with a view to move to permanent full time for the right person. Approx 30 hours per week. Must have manual driver's license with a clean driving record. Based at our Forest Glen depot. Delivering to Brisbane, Ipswich, Sunshine Coast, Gympie.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Care and Maintenance: Assist with watering, pruning, and preparing plants for delivery while ensuring they meet quality standards.
Species Identification: Use your plant knowledge to accurately identify and handle a wide variety of plant species.
Customer Interaction: Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service during deliveries and answer basic plant care questions. Assist customers with our click and collect orders.
Delivery Coordination: Ensure safe and timely delivery of plants, maintaining their quality and presentation.
Order Fulfillment: Collaborate with the team to manage order loading, inventory checks, and logistics.
Flexibility: Adapt to varying responsibilities, including nursery tasks and customer-facing roles.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in nursery work, horticulture, or a similar field.
Proven experience driving a manual van/truck.
Sound knowledge of plant species and their care requirements.
A proactive, organised, and adaptable approach to work.
Physically fit and capable of handling moderate physical tasks, including repetitive lifting and unloading/loading of plants.
A valid manual driver's license and clean driving record.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
