About the Company
Opportunity to join this well‐established global manufacturer and distributor of industrial power transmission and motion control products. The Australian operation combines local warehousing and sales with access to global engineering and manufacturing capability.
They are evolving their local finance function and need a hands‐on Senior Assistant Accountant / Accountant who can take ownership of Accounts Payable and partner closely with the Finance & Admin Manager across broader financial accounting and process improvement.
Role Responsibilities
* Take the lead on the end‐to‐end Accounts Payable function, overseeing the AP inbox, supplier queries and accurate processing of local and overseas invoices
* Manage weekly local and international payment runs, staff expenses (Concur), and FX, tax and compliance‐related payments (Super, PAYG, payroll taxes, BAS)
* Own key month‐end activities, including AP close, general ledger reconciliations, prepayments, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
* Work with large data sets in Excel to validate, reconcile and analyse transactions, ensuring data integrity across the GL
* Perform 3‐way matching, maintain accurate GL and cost centre coding, and complete timely reconciliations of creditor statements and corporate credit cards
* Assist the Finance & Admin Manager with building and streamlining finance processes, documentation and controls – this is not a pure BAU role
* Provide support and backup to Accounts Receivable, including cash allocation and bank reconciliations, as required
* Contribute to ongoing process improvement and system optimisation within the finance function
About you
* CA/CPA qualified or part‐qualified, or equivalent hands‐on experience in a similar Senior Assistant Accountant / Accountant role
* Strong Accounts Payable background with proven experience owning the function end‐to‐end
* Demonstrated experience in general ledger reconciliations, prepayments, accruals and month‐end processes
* Confident working with large data sets and using intermediate to advanced Excel for reconciliations and analysis
* Strong reconciliation skills, high attention to detail and a practical, solutions‐focused mindset
* Willing to roll up your sleeves and support a business that is evolving and growing
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with both finance and non‐finance stakeholders
* Ability to start quickly and work on‐site in the Parramatta area
