**The Role**
Directorate of Information, Graphics and eResources (DIGE) is at the forefront of shaping the way Defence's Estate information is managed and distributed. This is an opportunity to further hone and broaden Publishing Officer skills in a unique business environment. DIGE is seeking a motivated publishing officer that will assist to produce content that can be viewed by all Defence personnel.
Key duties and skills:
- Provide advice on publishing related activities including style, format and layout;
- Produce publishing products according to applicable Defence standards;
- Review product specifications; and
- Understand publishing related issues and problems.
**About our Team**
The Directorate of Information, Graphics and eResources (DIGE) within the Program Management and Governance (PM&G) branch is responsible for the development and implementation of structures, policies, procedures and controls to manage Service Delivery Division (SDD) information. We also deliver a number of Defence-wide corporate services including online library resources, corporate graphics and print procurement. The successful applicant will have knowledge of web development, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge, and be able to exercise sound decision making and judgement. They will engage in problem solving, communication and issues management and be required to perform publishing work.
The Publishing Officer will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will undertake research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessments and perform procedural and administrative work to achieve results.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in web development and web development language (using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to manage web content) or the ability to quickly acquire these skills.
