Fiona StanleyHospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range ofhealth services including the State Rehabilitation Service, acomprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit,maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State AdultBurns Service.
FSH also delivers specialised services such as heartand lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.

Position Description
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), inpartnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), is responsible forthe delivery of quality patient care within their speciality.
Therespiratory ward is a 24 bed ward with an 8 bed respiratory supportunit embedded within it.
The ward cares for respiratory patientssuch as those requiring non-invasive ventilation, tracheostomycare, and advanced lung disease support.
This is a dynamicenvironment where expertise, compassion, and innovation cometogether to provide the highest standard of care for patients withcomplex respiratory needs.
The CNS supports the NUM by supervisingthe delivery of quality patient care, through developing standardsof practice, implementing changes to clinical practice, educationof staff and initiating research and quality improvementactivities.
The CNS is responsible for the provision of aconsultation service within respiratory within the Hospital.
TheCNS works collaboratively to improve the quality of patient careand promote desired outcomes in the patient population requiringrespiratory management and care.
As a senior nurse, hasprofessional accountability to the Director of Nursing andMidwifery and provides mentorship and role modelling for nurses andcontributes to the advancement of the profession, in keeping withthe vision and values for Fiona Stanley Nursing.
