About this Role
We are seeking a Peer Practitioner to join our team, working as part of the Head to Health Immediate Access and Short-Term Care programs based at Gillingham Road, Elizabeth.
This service provides mental health support to people in the northern region of Adelaide 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including public holidays.
The ideal candidate will have personal experience of mental health challenges and distress and demonstrate recovery skills to engage with guests of Northern Head to Health and their families, carers and supporters of choice.
As a Peer Practitioner, you will be an active listener, providing emotional support and guidance to individuals who are experiencing mental health challenges and distress.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with guests of Northern Head to Health and their families, carers and supporters of choice
* Draw from a strengths-based recovery orientated service of care and act as a role model towards recovery for people experiencing mental health challenges and distress

Requirements
* Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment
* Has experienced mental health challenges and distress and has demonstrable experience of recovery
* Has previous work experience in administrative roles and has had experience with using databases and computer systems
