The service covers:1 large regional referral hospital and extended inpatient mental health service3 regional hub hospitals, 11 rural hospitals, and 4 multipurpose health servicesPrimary health clinics, community care units, general practices, and residential aged careThe department is committed to high-quality, evidence-based care, professional development, and fostering research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Queensland.The RoleAs a General Medicine Consultant, you will provideComprehensive inpatient, outpatient, consultation, and procedural servicesClinical leadership within the General Medicine team and across multi-disciplinary servicesOn-call coverage across Emergency and General Medicine wards, including Admissions, Discharge and Transfer Ward (ADTW)Support for rural outreach via telehealth and occasional ward rounds/clinicsActive involvement in education and supervision of junior doctors, registrars, and medical studentsParticipation in clinical governance, peer review, and quality improvement initiativesApplicants must hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent, and be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.The LocationKnown as the "Garden City", Toowoomba combines the amenities of a major regional centre with a relaxed lifestyle.
