**Who are we looking for?**
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health, Academic Division.
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Research Fellow position is to contribute to QUT's research on peptide therapeutics and membrane biology as part of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science (CIPPS, CE200100012 ) and as part of the ARC Discovery Project (DP220103549)

The School of Biomedical Sciences provides innovative undergraduate degree programs in Medical Laboratory Science and Biomedical Science. The School also operates a postgraduate degree program in Diagnostic Genomics and has recently launched a new vertical degree, B. Biomedical Science/Master of Data Analytics. We are actively developing further postgraduate programs that bridge aspiring students to our research programs.
The School's research program has undergone an extensive reorganisation, resulting in the launch of major Centres focused on the delivery of inter-disciplinary research programs. These research areas contribute to specialty undergraduate teaching and development of a research-informed curriculum in Anatomical Sciences, Physiology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Human Biochemistry, and Infectious Diseases
**What you need to succeed**
You will demonstrate:
- Completion of a PhD in an area of Biochemistry/Biotechnology and/or relevant accumulated experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and lab skills in membrane biology (e.g. model and cell membranes) and/or in peptides (e.g. chemistry, activity and mechanism)
- Demonstrated lab skills in conducting experiments and analysing data employing biophysical techniques (e.g. flow cytometry, surface plasmon resonance, fluorescence spectroscopy)
- Demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culture and in developing/performing biological assays
- Demonstrated experience in writing/contributing to research publications and in presenting research findings.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and constructively in a team environment, and with a range of collaborators.
- Organisational skills, including ability to manage confidential research records and data, and successfully manage workload to meet deadlines.
