The role
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are currently seeking a motivated, professional, and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead our 35-bed Neuroscience Ward at the Fitzroy campus. Reporting to the General Manager/Director of Clinical Services, you will oversee the daily operations of the unit, provide strong leadership to support outstanding patient care, and drive the ongoing development of clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear guidance, support, and expert advice to nursing and support staff to ensure high standards of clinical care are consistently upheld.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with staff, Accredited Medical Practitioners (AMPs), patients, families, and carers.
- Serve as a positive role model, reinforcing the unit's vision and culture while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and apply effective team‐building strategies to foster a culture of continuous improvement and enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
- Lead the team in the efficient and effective use of resources, encouraging flexibility and responsiveness to meet changing service demands.

Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Membership of the Australasian Neurosciences Nurses Association preferred.
- Proven leadership and managerial skills.
- Ability to influence and lead continuous quality of care improvements.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the use of IT platforms such as IBA (Webpas), Power BI, UKG, and Riskman or similar.
- Strong commitment to delivering safe, high‐quality, patient‐centred care.
