When people hear the name Meyer Food Co, most haven't heard of us, and that's fine. We're not a brand in the spotlight, but we're behind some of the biggest names in Australia. Our products reach major retailers, clubs, pubs, national fast-food chains, aged-care providers and hospitals right across the country.
Our business is all about value-added food. Using a unique cooking and packaging process, we take raw ingredients and turn them into slow-cooked, nutritious, great-tasting meals. Last year alone, we produced enough meat to feed every person in Australia three times over, chances are you've eaten our products plenty of times without even realising
With massive expansion underway and new partnerships coming online, we're now recruiting a Production Manager to lead, build and scale our brand-new Afternoon Shift operation.
About the Opportunity
This role exists purely due to growth. It's a rare chance to design, set up and launch an entirely new shift, recruitment, training, processes, standards and daily operations. The afternoon shift runs between 1:30pm – 10pm. As volumes continue to climb, you'll shape the structure, capability and rhythm of the shift to meet growing customer demand.
In your first 12 months, success will look like:
* Developing a deep understanding of Meyer Food Co's products, SKUs, processes, team and operational expectations.
* Understanding the volume ramp-up timeline and planning the people, equipment and resources required.
* Successfully recruiting and onboarding the full afternoon shift team.
* Training and developing your team to confidently run production lines and meet daily output requirements.
* Running smooth, efficient production across multiple cooking and packing rooms, maintaining quality, safety and throughput.
* Delivering consistent performance and proactively resolving day-to-day production challenges.
This is your opportunity to build a high-performing team from the ground up and run the afternoon operations in the way you know will drive the best results. Opportunities like this don't come around often.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes initiative and drives improvement, a leader who communicates well, builds strong teams and gets results. Realistically you'll also bring food industry experience, proven success in production or manufacturing management, and a track record of delivering on quality, safety, throughput and budget.
Ready to Apply?
If you want to build something new, lead a growing shift and help shape the future of one of Australia's quiet achievers in food manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you.
