Our client is a rapidly growing organization focused on soil carbon projects in Western Australia and is seeking a highly skilled and data-driven Compliance and Risk Manager to oversee their regulatory responsibilities as they expand their client base.
This position will play a crucial role in coordinating the workflow associated with the registration and ongoing monitoring of soil carbon projects. This position requires excellent attention to detail, a solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements, and the ability to assess and manage data and technology platforms.
In this role, you will:
- Take full ownership of the workflow associated with registering and monitoring soil carbon projects with the Clean Energy Regulator.
- Ensure that all project registrations follow the Carbon Farming Initiative Act 2011.
- Conduct due diligence on third-party technology services and manage relationships with service providers.
- Manage all activities related to soil carbon projects, including overseeing soil sampling contractors.
- Establish and implement quality control and quality assurance protocols for staff and contractors to adhere to.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Risk Management Strategy, Plan, and Processes.
- Generate accurate reports on project performance and compliance, meeting all legislative requirements.
- Procure and manage third-party project audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Identify opportunities within client projects to capture farm management and ecological data.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the value chain of carbon credit creation and ecosystem services products.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to monitoring, reporting, and validation standards.
- Proven experience in a similar role or a related workplace setting, with a strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing and managing data and technology platforms, with confidence in working with third-party technology service providers.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle complex workflows efficiently.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to make sound business decisions are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, capable of effectively managing multiple projects.
- A degree or relevant qualification in a related field is preferred.
