The Tasmanian Health Service is seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Registrar Maxillofacial vacancy.
The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the tertiary referral hospital for Tasmania and the principal teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania Medical School. The Hospital provides most public specialist medical services for southern Tasmania.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Unit (OMFU) is the oral surgery unit within the Royal Hobart Hospital. The Unit is part of Surgical and Perioperative Services providing care for the acute needs of oral and maxillofacial surgery and dental treatment. A general dental service (i.e., simple extractions, prosthetic care, restorative dental care) is not provided. The unit was set up to provide care to patients requiring inpatient and special management of outpatients under controlled conditions.
Salary: $134,930 - $189,005 per annum + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging.
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2022.
Classification: Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)
Award: Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
Period of Employment: Fixed term, part time day work, up to 60 hours per fortnight (plus up to 10 hours protected training time, pro rata, per fortnight), commencing 4 August 2025 until 1 February 2027 (negotiable).
Note: Assisting in Private rooms available - *includes up to 20 hours per fortnight.

Location: Oral Maxillofacial - Royal Hobart Hospital
The Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides after-hours emergency cover at the hospital as determined by the Medical Staffing Unit.
Essential Requirements:
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
